Session Ninety Four (TMA) - Rise Against, Part Three

You come out to the Barracks where Cosmo was held
There is a wide square that surrounds the barracks, there are piles of wood stacked, fires burning – it seems quiet – as you approach the barracks people up top raise up a cheer.

You meet with people, they want to know if it’s safe to head to the palace and if you can escort them back now that you’ve cleared the area. They keep hearing rumblings from under the ground

Session Ninety Three (TMA)- Rise Against, Part Two

Crow District/ Eagle District
You’ve saved people. Now you need to do it again, and take the city back.

Crow district has become the core of Illium military focus – with the recruitment drive and investment, a lot of individuals and their families live in the city (Irregulars)
Most of the city watch are people that would generally be on night duty anyway, along with some veterans

The palace guard is concerned, as there seems to be quite a bit of smoke coming out of Crow District, and not a lot of people are coming in through the palace gates. Standing orders for irregulars though is to report to their superiors at the central barracks in Crow distrcit which, as it’s a repurposed prison, has a 15’ stone stockade wall around it as well as watchtowers. The smoke that you can see from the palace

The Eagle section has a couple similar redoubts, as there were times in Illium’s past when it was more of a republic and various factions built Palazzo’s – Home/Fortresses, where government could be run, and soldiers housed. It’s the section furthest back into the mountain, so in theory it’s the most secure from outside invaders. If forces are coming from inside the mountain though all bets are off. While various members of the court have showed up at the palace, there are a few notable exceptions – Taelim’s Aunt, who is one of the three regents (with Feeps and the Azure Prince) as well as Lord Gerald Blacktower, who was hosting the exile Vallum before they left to the North. It’s likely they are holed up in their Palazzo’s along with a couple other nobles.

Session One Hundred and Fifteen (NBL) - The Trial of Head

In front of us a metal post rises up in front of us, we’re instruct to touch it. It gets super dark.
It’s still dark, but there’s a sense that’s there’s a slight wind and starlight light.
None of the stars look like current constellations. In front of us, we see a hedge, there’s like an opening in the hedge. The gold vines are blood vines, there are snakes that are super poisonous.
There is a sun dial. It can be affected by the sun blade. It seems like a normal sun dial.
It has a half moon motif.
Touch the sun dial and, we get smaller and land in the sun dial.

Zukko thinks it’s some kind of elemental. They carry mauls. They aren’t touching the ground.

Find guards getting attacked by zombies, fire, use sleet storm to put it out.
Run into the sewers.
Track the undead to entrances to the underdark, get pushed back to the street level onto the other side of the wall
find a group of guards, make way to palace gates
play defense for groups of civilians making way into the palace, fighting off massive amounts of undead, manage to save most of the civilians, lost more than half the guards (to crits)

Session One Hundred and Fourteen (NBL) - I stand in Judgement

Fourteen (NBL) –
Orb have runes – the bigger ones are protective. The runes read: “Guardians, defeat, door, and drown”. The runes are moving, the orb is spinning.
Doki inferred that there is something we have to do.

The walls are made out of solid granite. Doki doesn’t see any opening no door or creases. Nothing in the walls – it’s solid. At the edges of the room there doesn’t appear to be mortared to the wall.
The are two vertical walls that aren’t mortared to the ceiling.
Floor drops 10 minutes, two runes appear. Then two forms appears. The forms are Stone Columns. They’re guardians.
ROLL INITIATIVE
Guardians, on a failed save, a target can’t use reactions, its speed is halved, and it can’t make more than one attack on its turn. In addition, the target can take either an action or a bonus action on its turn, not both. Floor slowly moves down, and party starts to drown. After a few rounds, party is completely underwater.
Kill both,
The water drains downwards. The egg descends from the ceiling and it stis there 5 feet from the floor. There is another entrance.
There is a radiating bright light on the left, and darkness on the right.
As we move into the space, we see a long dead corpse of some humanoid creature. The bones are there, it looks like an elemental earth cultists. They try to find evil primordial stuff. It’s clothes look super worn and tattered. It’s almost mummified but the clothes are contemporary. Xillali can identify the clothing was fashionable 10 years ago. As she begins to touch the corpse, and the body dissolved. A ghosty thing appears in it’s place. “HELP, HELP ME REST”
“I failed because of my fear” it whispers as it leaves.

In a different room there is a floating d8 cristal. It’s magical.
“Time, test, fear, fail”
Crono Elementals. Past, present, and Future. They are ageless, and were born from a rift of excess time.
Locations of importance attract them. They can be bound as defenders and guardians.
Xillalii gets a glimpse of a future, an event that she sees vividly.
Hear a giant BOOM sound from the area
Another door opens, as we walk, the floor clonks and feels cold. The darkness stretches.
We are standing on the top of a Titanic Anvil – around you the roof stretches, you can see the walls of the room – illustrations of primordials building the archons at anvils like this to wage war (and die) to the angels and other gods – (Destruction of Shom by the god of the word , Destruction of Amoth and Kalendurren, Chaining of Torog, Death of Lakal by the Golden Dragon Bahamut

We realize we are standing in an avil that is 40 feet long. In the center there is a sarcophagus
“Lord, titan, steward, hammer”

Doki opens the sarcophagus, it looks like a mummified archon. On its brow is a crown made out of the same type of metal we’re standing on. In one hand it has a flail, on the other it has a hammer. It has a featureless mask.
“WHO WAKES ME IN MY SLUMBER”
“It is I, YOUR CHAMBERLAIN” responds Doki. It reaches out, the hammer reaches out to Doki. She dies. “YOU LIED”
“I WILL NOT STAND FOR LIARS”
“WHY DO YOU JUDGE YOURSELF WORTHY” ON WHOSE MANDATE
I DO NOT DEEM THEE WORTHY. I DO NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR MANDATE”
“NONE OF YOU ALONE CAN WEAVE THE POWER NEEDED”
“AGREE TO SHARE YOUR SUCCESS AND YOUR FAILURE AS ONE”
Muttters a word, and a chronous elemental comes back and bring Doki back to life.
“I WILL STAND IN JUDGEMENT. IF YOU FAIL NO ONE WILL REMEMBER YOU, IT’S AS IF YOU NEVER EXISTED”
A door opens, and a bridge opens. You may rest here before your trial. You have now petitioned yourself in head, hand, and heart.

Session One Hundred and Thirteen (NBL) - Rust Drakes

Naora gets the sense that the land is moving up. Zukko gets us to the start of the mountains.
The dust gets everywhere, it starts to cake on our skin so it turns red. We get to an area that we can recognize as a mine.

Oil up the elevator inside, and head down. Slowly get to the bottom. In the darkness there are piles of skeletons.
As I look down, I see a pile of footprints of other creatures that have passed by. Out of the shadows I see a large dessicated corpse that looks like a demon nailed to a wall. There is faint magic coming out of the demon. The nails have an inscription. Doki sees the primordial rune for “transgressor” “warning” and “death”.

There are no exits

Rest at night
Doki wakes up coughing. Lay on hands does not work.

Attacked from the sky by drakes. After their death, we notice each rust drake and rust drakes have a metal band around their neck with rune for “key”.

They clearly have magical effect on them. They have a hinge, there is a faint abjuration on them.

The tiny hut starts having holes in them. The town does not go away when we reach it.
As we walk in, the area is ruined and we have no clue of where to go. At some point, we notice that
rust is doing the circular thing like there is a magic source.
There is a set of stairs going down, at the bottom we see the body of an arcone. It’s a stone arcone.

Dimitri finds a secret passage. It leads back to a building. Parts of the ceiling has fallen, quickly navigate through rubble.
Hexagonal shaped rune, in the center there is a big metal piece of ore, almost perfectly polished.

Session One Hundred and Twelve (NBL) - The Plane of Rust

Get Black Dragon Mask. Doki wears for safekeeping.
Plane of rust is a place without a deamon lord. It is an area that is devoid of most intelligent life. It has gone through a few incursions as various folks have invaded. There are a few buildings and complexes scattered about. It’s mostly incredibly deadly territory, with mostly acid lakes. Winds that can destroy armor. There is an occisionaloccasional deamon.
The forge was a place where Arcones were created.

Naora is looking for a ring of acid resistance. Intimidates the shop owner to tell him the name of the owner. Doki and Naora go to look for the owner of the ring. He wants a month’s worth of service at an establishment. Bouncing and singing. Doki convinces him to let us keep the ring for 6 weeks. Then must work for one month. Noto Hasagawa

Dimitri buys potion for protection of acid (-250g)

Xillali buys rod of attunement for Callenduran (-250g). Will take 4 days to make.

Doki talks to Mutus. Gets him to make her a bone lute.

We’re in a twisted landscapes coated in dull red particles.
Arrow of finding does not work here. As Xillali begins to cast, there was some kind of force that was resisting her. The rust starts to move around her in a circular pattern.
Dimtiri casts a spell. The rust unnaturally clumps towards him.
